Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2020, in its eighth edition, was a resounding success with 22,000 visitors through its doors. The fair was a remarkable juncture for the 107 exhibitors – of which 49 galleries were local and 58 were international – 423 artists and 4800 VIPs, from Europe, USA, the Middle East and Africa. We had 210 local and international media visiting the fair and coverage across 338 local and international media platforms.
Leading museums and institutions joined us at the fair including A4 Arts Foundation, ANO Institute of Contemporary Arts, FOLIO by Alserkal Arts Foundation, Fondazione Merz, Friends der Pinakothek der Moderne, Iziko South African National Gallery, Kim?Contemporary Art Centre, Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, The Norval Foundation, Palais de Lomé, Skissernas Museum – Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art, Tate Modern African Acquisitions Committee, WEDGE Curatorial Projects, Yerevan Biennial Art Foundation and Zeitz MOCAA, among others.
Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2020 offered a platform for collectors, galleries, curators, artists, and art journalists from around the globe to create connections at the forefront of contemporary art. With an intimate experience of one of the world most unique art capitals, Investec Cape Town Art Fair proved to be the place where the fast-growing African art market and the international art world meet.
