The funds raised by the Good Food & Wine Show from the Table of Peace & Unity would not be possible without the amazing generosity of our sponsors; the hospitality industry, the corporate world and the many thousands of individuals who have taken their place at the Table of Peace & Unity over the years.
There are so many kind hearted and giving people to thank for their support of our vision to help make life better for abused and neglected South African children.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to list the hundreds of people who have helped us over the years. Many of our sponsors are current and past exhibitors who give so freely when asked to do so and for this we thank them from the bottom of our heart. We also give our heartfelt thanks to all who contribute to the infrastructure and consumables for the Table of Peace & Unity – Downings Marquee, stage and sound systems, kitchen set-ups, furniture, linen, crockery, glasses, ingredients for the lunch, wines, gifts for diners and Rainbow Experiential Marketing. You are our angels.
There will always be one donor to be singled out for special praise and that is Samsung. Not only do they provide financial sponsorship for the Table of Peace & Unity, over many years they have continued to supply appliances and electrical equipment to our children’s charities. Dozens of televisions, DVD players, washing machines, refrigerators, ovens, hobs and microwave ovens have brought tears of joy to the wonderful people who run the children’s charities that we support. We cannot thank them enough.
We are truly indebted to the professional executive chefs who, with such passion and energy, design the menu and prepare the fabulous gourmet three-course Table of Unity lunch. Lunch for 700 people in an outside venue, while still continuing with their full-time job running hotel kitchens, is remarkable and to be much admired.
In the Mother City, the setting on Table Mountain – now one of the New7Wonders of Nature; a sumptuous feast and world-class entertainment will again be the key ingredients that keep guests coming back year after year. Top chefs Peter Tempelhoff and Delia Harbottle (of the Liz McGrath Collection); Morne Botha (Park Inn (by) Radisson) and Jerome Peters and Danielle Schamrel of the Cape Town Hotel School will create a three-course meal with ingredients supplied by Checkers The chefs are assisted by culinary school students who work all weekend; these young people entering the hospitality industry not only gain valuable work experience they also learn about giving back.
The sensational entertainers, who bring such a dynamic vibe to the event and give so much pleasure to the diners, perform for no payment. At their expense, many fly from their home town to entertain at one of the Tables. Over the years we have been honoured to welcome Danny K, PJ Powers, the Guguletu Tenors and Sterling EQ among others, all for the sake of helping us help our children.
From all at Fiera Milano Exhibitions Africa we celebrate every one you.
